Longevity Meetups is a directory of longevity, aging-research, biohacking and healthspan events. We collect as little personal data as the site needs to work. This page explains what is collected, why, and how to opt out or ask us to delete it.
What we collect
1. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and events people find useful. It sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*, up to two years) and records page views, searches, filter usage and outbound clicks to event registration pages, together with a truncated IP address, approximate location, browser and device type. We do not use analytics data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Analytics run with Google's Consent Mode and are on by default. You can reject them at any time: use the cookie banner on your first visit or the "Cookie settings" link in the footer. Your choice is stored in your browser (localStorage key lm_consent) and is not sent to us.
2. Performance measurement (Vercel Speed Insights)
We measure how fast pages load and respond for real visitors (Core Web Vitals such as load time and layout shift), together with the page route, device type, browser and country. It sets no cookies and stores no identifier, so it does not track you across pages or visits.
3. Event submissions
When you submit an event, we store the event details you enter (title, description, date, location, organizer name, link). This information is reviewed by a moderator and, if approved, published on the site. To prevent abuse we also record a salted, one-way hash of your IP address for up to ten minutes; the raw IP address is never stored.
4. Newsletter
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from and the time you signed up, so we can send you the digest. If we use an email provider to send it, your address is also passed to that provider. To unsubscribe and have your address deleted, write to the address under "Your rights".
5. Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps short-lived request logs (IP address, URL, user agent) for security and debugging. We do not use them to identify visitors.
Where the data lives
- Hosting, request logs and performance measurement: Vercel.
- Event catalog, submissions and newsletter subscribers: a Neon PostgreSQL database.
- Analytics: Google Analytics (Google LLC).
- Newsletter sending: the email provider we use, if any.
Some of these providers process data in the United States. They act as our processors under standard contractual terms.
Legal basis
We process submission and newsletter data to provide the service you asked for. We process analytics data on the basis of our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used, which you can object to at any time by rejecting analytics cookies.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to its processing, and to complain to a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email privacy@longevitymeetups.com. We respond within 30 days.
Event listings
Listings aggregate publicly available information about events — titles, dates, venues and organizer names — from event platforms and organizer websites. We never collect attendee lists. If you organize an event and want a listing corrected or removed, write to the address above.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be announced on the homepage.
